Nina Struss

Nina (she/her) currently serves as the River Health and Resiliency Organizer with Prairie Rivers Network. She works to advance nature-based solutions specific to river health in the Quad Cities region. She educates, engages and activates the public and community leaders about the benefits of natural river, wetland, and floodplain functions and their impacts on the Quad Cities. In collaboration with the National Wildlife Federation and University of Illinois Discovery Partners Institute, Nina co-authored the report Navigating Climate Challenges in the Quad Cities: A Comprehensive Assessment and Paths to Resilience, which guides much of her work here in the Quad Cities. Nina works to build support for nature-based solution by engaging a network of stakeholders in the Quad Cities, Iowa-Cedar and Rock River regions who are supportive and actively calling for advancement of nature-based solutions to address community concerns. She currently serves as a Board Member of NEST Cafe, and is an active member of the Clean River Advisory Council (C-RAC). Nina enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time in nature with her husband and son.
