This GivingTuesday, River Action will inspire generosity by rallying our community to support the environmental, economic, and cultural vitality of the Mississippi River and its riverfront. Funds raised will sustain our operations and enable us to continue offering impactful programs, such as educational events, habitat restoration efforts, and community celebrations that connect people to the river.
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. On December 3, 2024, River Action is inviting the Quad Cities community to give back to the Mississippi River by supporting the essential work we do year-round.
Each year our efforts engage, educate, and inspire over 5,000 citizens of all ages from near and far. River Action's goal this GivingTuesday is to raise $10,000 to ensure we can continue foster collaboration and advocate for the river’s protection by providing programs like the Explore the River Series of Channel Cat Talks & Riverine Walks, hosting the Upper Mississippi River Conference, putting on Events like Taming of the Slough and Floatzilla, and carrying out important initiatives such as our Getting Back to Our Roots prairie planting, which will contribute to the restoration and enhancement of over 20 acres of native prairie at our QC Wild Places. Through your generosity, we can sustain the operations that make these projects possible and expand our impact.
GivingTuesday is a time to reflect on the role the Mississippi River plays in our lives. Every contribution helps us continue our mission of ensuring the river remains a vibrant and vital resource for our community, from its natural beauty to its economic and cultural significance.
