2024 Explore & Seek is June 1st through 30th!
River Action's 5th Annual Explore & Seek Scavenger Hunt (formerly Ride & Seek) is an event for families and explorers of all ages. During the entire month of June, participants will seek the answers to environmental, conservation, and historical clues. Explore & Seek gets our community outdoors and connected to nature, bringing awareness and awe to local Wild Places and conservation areas. Registrants receive an Explorer Kit, including a tie-dye drawstring bag, clue map, field notebook, pen, compass carabiner, and coupons to local businesses to redeem near each clue location. Prizes are given to those who answer the most clues correctly. “Junior Explorer” certificates and ball caps are given to children under 12 who visit a minimum of 5 locations and correctly answer the clues. - The first 100 single or family registrations will receive a free scoop of ice cream coupon from Happy Joe's in LeClaire, IA.
CONTEST RULES
- Prizes will be given to those who solve the most clues correctly. In the event of a tie, a winner will be drawn. First place winner will be given first choice between grand prizes, second place winner will be given second choice and so on. Prizes include (1) PlayStation 5, (1) YETI Tundra 105 Hard Cooler, (4) Ultimate Adventure Day Passes to The Fun Station QC, (5) 90-Minute Jump Passes to Elevate Trampoline Park (Milan, IL or Davenport, IA), and (10) Whitey's Ice Cream Single Dip Scoops.
- River Action reserves the right to disqualify any participant who has violated any contest rules.
- One submission per paid single or family registration. You must be registered to participate. One prize per registration. Junior registrations are not eligible for grand prizes and must be attached to a family registration to qualify for any prize.
- Registrants can pick up their Explorer Kits with Clue Maps starting Friday, May 31st and through the month of June at River Action - 822 E. River Drive, Davenport, IA. Hours M-F 8:30-5. We are NOT open on weekends.
- All submissions must be submitted or turned in no later than July 1st. No exceptions.
- Registered Junior Explorers who answer 5 clues correctly will receive a Wild Places hat (while supplies last) and Junior Explorer Certificate. Junior Explorers may compete to win prizes for most clues answered, but are not eligible to receive *grand* prizes (PlayStation or YETI). Junior explorers must be attached to a single or family registration to win.

A: Junior Explorers (+ $5 registrations) can submit their clue answers to compete in the 'most clues answered' contest and are eligible to win Adventure Passes, Jump Passes, and Ice Cream Scoops. They must be attached to a single or family registration.
Q: When and where can I pick up my Explorer Kit and Clue Map?
A: Registrants can pick up their Explorer Kits with Clue Maps starting Friday, May 31st and through the month of June at River Action - 822 E. River Drive, Davenport, IA. Hours M-F 8:30-5. We are NOT open on weekends.
Q: Is there a deadline for submitting my answers?
A: Submissions must be received by July 1st, no exceptions.
Q: Can I re-submit my answers if I think I got one wrong?
A: Yes! You can re-submit your answers any time before July 1st.
Q Is there a cut-off for registrations?
A: You can register any time from now through June 28th. Please note that our hours are 8:30-5, M-F. You will not be able to pick up your Explorer Kit or Clue Map after 5pm on June 28th. We will re-open on Monday, June 3rd at 8:30am.
