Winter Outdoor Photo Contest
Presented by River Action in partnership with The Camera Corner, this contest celebrates the beauty of our region’s wildlife and river landscapes during the winter season. Photographers of all experience levels are invited to participate and share their best winter nature shots.
All proceeds from the Winter Photo Contest help River Action protect, celebrate, and connect our communities to the Mississippi River through environmental stewardship, education, and riverfront programs.
Submission Details
- Submission Window: December 1 – January 12 (midnight)
- Entry Fee: $10 per photo submission
- Judging Period: January 12 – January 15
Categories
- Amateur: Cell phone or cameras less than 5400 x 3600 at 300 dpi
- Professional: Cameras higher than 7200 x 4800 at 300 dpi
Themes
Submissions should capture winter wildlife scenes, outdoor nature, and river-related landscapes. Examples including bald eagles, ducks, fish, frozen water, trees with snow, action shots, etc.Prizes & Recognition
- Gift Cards: $100 Camera Corner gift card for 1st place professional and $50 for 1st place amateur
- Metal Print: 1st place professional will recieve a 16" x 24" aluminum print of their image from Camera Corner
- Coda Print: 1st place amateur will receive a 16" x 24" Coda Print of their image from Camera Corner
- Coda Print: 2nd & 3rd place professional will each receive a 12" x 18" Coda Print of their image from Camera Corner
- Coda Print: 2nd & 3rd place amateur will receive a 8" x 12" Coda Print of their image from Camera Corner
- Publication: 1st place Professional photo will appear on the front cover of the February issue of Eddy Magazine; 1st place Amateur photo will appear on the inside front cover
Judging
A panel of eight local judges (four amateur and four professional) will evaluate entries using a rubric developed by Camera Corner.Partners & Sponsors
