PARKING/ACCESS
Park in Lock and Dam #14 Recreation Area parking lot and walk .2 miles to trail head. You must cross the auxiliary lock chamber to access the area.
SITE AMENITIES
Nature trail, restrooms (no water) and picnic area with tables and shelters, park benches, interpretive signage, canoe/kayak trail head, bird viewing platform and shore fishing areas

6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
SPECIAL CLOSINGS
May be closed during times of flooding.
SITE CHARACTERISTICS
Nationally recognized, the site is comprised of low water marsh along the trail and includes ndigenous species of lowland forest habitats unique to the area. Small areas of re-established prairie species in the recreation area itself. Trail is primitive with little development on the surfacing. Signage and other amenities do exist. Ample areas for fishing off the bank
