Refuge office is on County Road X61 about 5 miles outside of Wapello. There are multiple access points. Directions, maps and a refuge brochure can be downloaded by clicking on the brochure link below.
SITE AMENITIES
Visitor information available at office Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hiking trails, water trail, fishing, hunting, three boat ramps, wildlife observation and photography. Two observation decks with scopes are available.
HOURS
Office is open Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Refuge is open sunrise to sunset daily. However, some parts of the refuge are closed in the fall as it is a waterfowl sanctuary from September 15 to January 1.
