$14 primitive sites; $20 electric sites
HOURS
Camping available May 1 through last Sunday in October. Fee booth open 5 to 8 p.m. daily; 9 to 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Also open 9 to 11 a.m. Sundays on holiday weekends.
SITE AMENITIES
Camping (131 sites), access to the Great River Bike trail for biking or hiking, boat ramp, fishing, playgrounds, and great views of the Mississippi River and Potter's Marsh Wildlife Area.
NATURAL SITE CHARACTERISTICS
Park is built on an island in the Mississippi River. The island was used historically by the Woodland Indians for trading, hunting and rituals. Some examples of large Indian burial mounds are still present. The island is home to dozens of species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Wildlife and bird-watching are popular activities on the island. Research currently being done on turtle nests in the marsh.
